Quizalize is Zzish’s main digital product. An online platform where teachers can create tests, plan lessons and structure practice activities. The platform also allows students to complete their assessments in a more fun and engaging way.

The company works with a freemium business model, with both B2C and B2B (teachers and school district subscription).
The goal for the UX was mainly to increase the user base and the company’s annual revenue.
Working closely with Sales and Dev teams, my role was largely focused on setting up a more user-centric design process, as well as designing and testing new solutions to improve the number of returning users and revenue.

The only piece of information about the users was some fragmented user feedback collected on Intercom. I started with gathering some more high-level relevant feedback, sending surveys in order to understand the main problems in the platform. I then implemented a feedback collection process in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams.

Considered that the platform has a lot of pre-made content made by US and UK teachers, I performed in-person user testing with teachers based in London as well as remote user testing with teachers in the US, thus obtaining a more accurate picture of the target audience.

A better teaching and learning experience
The percentage of activated users has increased from 5% to 16% and the Company’s annual revenue has doubled up.
We have also received a lot of positive feedback and compliments from teachers. One of the teachers calls us her “genies” because of how we make continuous improvements into the platform and improve it day by day.
